Millwall earn late win at Leicester City

Alan Dunne's late goal earns Millwall a 1-0 win at 10-man Leicester City in the Championship.

Alan Dunne's late goal has earned Millwall a 1-0 win at 10-man Leicester City in the Championship.

The midfielder netted with four minutes left at the King Power Stadium to deliver a blow to the home side's promotion hopes.

Leicester's night got off to a disastrous start as Wes Morgan was shown a straight red card with three minutes played for bringing down Andy Keogh.

Both sides showed plenty of attacking intent during the remainder of the half as the two goalkeepers were kept busy at either end.

Chris Wood had his header scrambled off the line by the visiting defence before Kasper Schmeichel kept out Jermaine Easter's effort.

Wood had a glorious chance to give Leicester the lead midway through the half, but he could only blast wide when through on goal.

Schmeichel was called into action again before the half-time whistle as he stood tall to deny Rob Hulse.

Despite being a man down, the hosts were in control for much of the second half as Danny Drinkwater blasted his shot over before Millwall goalkeeper David Forde made an impressive reaction save after a flick off his own defender.

However, with a draw looking likely, Dunne ghosted into the box to slot past Schmeichel late on and give the Lions the victory.
