Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Bayern Munich

Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for Liverpool ahead of their Champions League last-16 second leg trip to Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

Liverpool must put their Premier League title challenge to one side on Wednesday night when they face Bayern Munich in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie at the Allianz Arena.

The contest hangs in the balance after a goalless draw in last month's first leg at Anfield, giving Bayern a slender advantage with Wednesday's match on home turf.

However, Liverpool - runners-up in this competition last season - will feel that they are capable of scoring some valuable away goals having netted four times during Sunday's win over Burnley.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for Jurgen Klopp's side ahead of Wednesday's showdown.

LIVERPOOL'S INJURY LIST

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Status: Slight doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: March 13

Alexander-Arnold was forced off in the closing stages of Sunday's match after complaining of muscle tightness, although it is not thought to be a serious problem for the full-back and he was back in training for the Reds on Tuesday.

James Milner

Status: Slight doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: March 13

Milner did not recover in time to feature during Sunday's win over Burnley, but Klopp had played down the severity of his muscular problem before that game and so he should be available for this one, having also returned to training.

Naby Keita

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: Unknown

Keita missed training on Tuesday and has been ruled out of Wednesday's match with a minor muscle injury. Klopp is yet to confirm exactly how long the midfielder will be out for, though.

Joe Gomez

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: March 31

Gomez is closing in on his return from an ankle injury and could be available for selection once again after this month's international break.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Oxlade-Chamberlain returned to action for the first time in 11 months during an Under-23s game on Friday, but saw his involvement cut short by a muscle problem. Klopp has expressed his hope that it is not another serious injury for the midfielder, who has not featured for the first time since April 2018 due to a knee injury.

LIVERPOOL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Liverpool have no suspensions for this game.
