Ian Holloway "bemused" by penalty decision

Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway says that the referee was wrong to award Liverpool a penalty at Anfield this afternoon.

Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has said that he is confused by the referee's decision to award Liverpool a penalty at Anfield this afternoon.

The Eagles were already two down after goals from Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge, but it was made 3-0 before the break when Steven Gerrard beat Julian Speroni from 12 yard out.

It was Dean Moxey who was adjudged to have brought down Raheem Sterling, although Holloway questioned the incident in its entirety.

"I've just seen it and I'm bemused," BBC Sport quotes Holloway as saying. "Was it outside the box and was it really a foul?

"If you want to compare it to anything, Jimmy Kebe is pulled much worse by Mamadou Sakho at the other end. If one is a penalty and one isn't, I don't understand."

Palace grabbed one back to make it 3-1, but they still sit bottom of the Premier League with one win from seven games.
