Jordan Henderson out for six to eight weeks with broken foot

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson breaks a bone in his foot and will be out of action for six to eight weeks.

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson will miss up to eight weeks after breaking a bone in his right foot.

The England international suffered the injury in training but it is not related to the heel problem, which is on his left foot, that has limited Henderson to two appearances this season.

The 25-year-old could miss 11 games for his club and will be ruled out for England's final two European qualifying games against Estonia and Lithuania in early October.

The midfielder will have surgery on Monday and could also be out for his nation's November friendlies against Spain and France.

Henderson played 54 times for Liverpool in all competitions last season, scoring seven goals.
