Jurgen Klopp "could not care less" about Premier League title race predictions

Jurgen Klopp stresses that he "couldn't care less" about Liverpool's Premier League title credentials so early in the season, despite two wins from two.

Jurgen Klopp has refused to discuss Liverpool's Premier League title credentials following a great start to the 2018-19 campaign.

The Reds, who made several high-profile signings in the summer, have won both of their league games so far, scoring six goals and conceding none.

Liverpool's first game of the season saw them run out 4-0 winners over West Ham United, before leaving Crystal Palace with three points and a clean sheet in a 2-0 win on Monday night.

"It's very early. I couldn't care less really," Klopp told Sky Sports News when asked about the early stages of the title race. "We are not in a race with other Premier League teams each weekend.

"I was not 100% sure tonight in the first half that we would score. You have to play it as it is and be a real challenger, play ugly, do all that type of stuff. Our target is to be a difficult opponent.

"It is too strong to say anything after two match days. You can discuss whatever you want - just do it without us."

Liverpool have joined five other teams, including champions Manchester City, on six points in the table after their opening two league fixtures.
