Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez says that he is pleased with his team's performance, despite losing 3-0 to Liverpool at Anfield.

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has taken the positives from his team's 3-0 defeat to Liverpool.

The Latics were undone by two goals from Luis Suarez, and Jose Enrique's first ever for the club, at Anfield this afternoon.

However, the Spanish coach believes that his side played well, despite lacking something in the final third.

"We looked very comfortable and the only aspect we were not happy with is that we didn't have much joy in the final third after the domination in possession," said Martinez.

"We weren't as sharp as we usually are and that made a big difference because when you are on top in a game you have to be able to score. The positive first half shows that we are ready to go anywhere in the Premier League and be ourselves.

"There were a few things that didn't go our way when we were still in a position to get back into the game but, we have to focus on our performance rather than things that are out of our control."

Today's result leaves Wigan in 15th, just two points above the relegation zone.
