Mauricio Pochettino: "It was a fair result"

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino says that his side's draw with Liverpool was "a fair result".

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that his side's 1-1 draw with Liverpool in the day's early kickoff was "a fair result".

Danny Rose cancelled out a first-half James Milner penalty late on in a game that saw Liverpool denied a second spot kick and have a goal incorrectly chalked off.

The incidents left Reds manager Jurgen Klopp frustrated by the result, but Pochettino thinks that the two sides were evenly matched over the 90 minutes.

"It was a game that if you look at the stats it was 50-50," he told reporters after the game. "Liverpool are a team who want to play and win titles and I think we are in the same way. It was a fair result.

"They had some chances but not too much. I think we played much better. I am very pleased with the performance and the effort. It wasn't easy. We played a team that played perfect counter-attack and the draw is a fair result.

"I am very pleased and I am very happy for definite. It was a fantastic game for the neutral people to see today."

The result continued Spurs' unbeaten start to the season as they moved onto five points from three games.
