Real Madrid have been recognised for last season's exploits in the Champions League by dominating the positional awards at Thursday's pre-Champions League draw ceremony.

Keylor Navas picked up the UEFA Goalkeeper of the Season award ahead of Alisson Becker and Gianluigi Buffon, previously of Roma and Juventus respectively.

The Defender of the Season prize, meanwhile, saw Sergio Ramos triumph ahead of teammates Marcelo and Raphael Varane in a positional clean sweep for the club.

Luka Modric was named Midfielder of the Season, beating Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne and fellow Madridista Toni Kroos alongside winning the Men's Player of the Year award outright.

Although Cristiano Ronaldo is now at Juventus, the Portuguese was recognised for his achievements with Los Merengues last season by picking up the Forward of the Season gong.

Ronaldo saw off Lionel Messi of Barcelona and Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah in the process.
