Brendan Rodgers admits system change

Brendan Rodgers says he changed Liverpool's system during their draw with Chelsea to provide more support to Luis Suarez.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has revealed that he changed his side's system during their 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday.

The Blues led the match following a first-half header from John Terry before Luis Suarez netted an equaliser for the Reds at Stamford Bridge.

Afterwards, Rodgers admitted that he had changed the Merseysiders' system in the second half to support key man Suarez.

"In the second half we were excellent after being tentative in the first 45 minutes," said Rodgers.

"I changed the system a bit to give Luis [Suarez] a bit more support up through the middle and try to allow our wing backs and midfielders to join in.

"We didn't take the initiative in the first half but then you have to give the players credit. In the second half we took the game to Chelsea and were much better. It is an excellent point for us because I know how difficult it is to come here and get anything."
