Mohamed Salah becomes the player to score and assist in a single match the most times in one season in the history of the Premier League.

Mohamed Salah scored and assisted for the eighth time in a Premier League game this campaign on Sunday afternoon against West Ham United, the most by a player in a single season in the competition's history.

Arne Slot's side comfortably beat West Ham 5-0 away from home and won for the fourth consecutive match, ending 2024 top of the Premier League table.

Salah managed to grab an assist for Cody Gakpo for the Reds' second goal, before finding the back of the net himself shortly before the half-time interval, and he also set up Diogo Jota for his side's fifth.

The Egyptian has now scored 17 goals and produced 13 assists in the Premier League this campaign, and is leading in both categories ahead of Erling Haaland and Bukayo Saka.

Having both scored and assisted against Ipswich Town, Manchester United, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and now against West Ham, Salah has overtaken the likes of Bruno Fernandes to record the most matches with a goal and assist in a single season in Premier League history.

The numbers behind Mohamed Salah's 2024-25

Having scored and assisted in a single Premier League game for the eighth time this season, Salah has now achieved this feat more times in 2024-25 than Eden Hazard managed in his entire career in the English top flight.

The Egyptian has scored more league goals than Everton and Southampton have this campaign and has the same number as Ipswich Town.

In fact, Salah's tally of 30 goals and assists in the top flight has already surpassed the total that he managed last term.

If he were to continue at his current trajectory, the attacker would end the Premier League season with at least 35 goals and 27 assists.

Perhaps importantly for Salah, he is now eighth in the all-time Premier League scorers list with 174 goals and is only one behind seventh-placed Thierry Henry and three behind sixth-placed Frank Lampard.

With Salah in the form of his life at the moment, there is every chance that he could lead Liverpool to both Premier League and Champions League glory again.
