Marko Grujic still hoping for Liverpool chance

Midfielder Marko Grujic admits that he is still hoping to be provided with an opportunity to impress at Liverpool, despite spending the last 24 months out on loan.

Marko Grujic has revealed that he has not given up on being given the chance to make an impact at Liverpool.

After being restricted to just three starts and 11 substitute outings following his move to Anfield in 2016, Grujic has spent the last two years on loan at Cardiff City and Hertha Berlin respectively.

The 23-year-old has starred at the latter, contributing eight goals from 37 appearances in the Bundesliga since August 2018.

However, Grujic has acknowledged that he still dreams of representing his parent club again at some point later in the future.

Speaking to Goal.com, the Serbian said: "I still hope for that, of course. You can't just give up on your goals. In fact, I'm probably working harder now than I've ever done before in my life.

"I know it's going to be tough. I'm not stupid. I know that Liverpool right now are an unbelievable team, the best team in the world. So, I know that I have to be at a very high level if I want to have a chance.

"That's why I watch as many of their games as I can, to learn and to see the level. I know improvement is the only thing that can help me."

Grujic still has three-and-a-half years remaining on his Liverpool contract.
