Liverpool chiefs are reportedly preparing to budget for a swoop for Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe in the summer of 2022.
The World Cup-winning Frenchman is due to become a free agent at the end of this season and is yet to agree to a new contract at the Parc des Princes.
Real Madrid are still thought to harbour ambitions of a nine-figure move for Mbappe this month, with speculation over his future intensifying after he was not pictured at a birthday gathering for teammate Ander Herrera.
Liverpool were previously linked with a move for Mbappe earlier in the year, and Transfer Window Podcast now claims that the Reds' owners are willing to alter their wage budget in preparation for a battle for his services.
Jurgen Klopp's side are supposedly not prepared to come forward with an offer for Mbappe, but they will rival Real Madrid and others for his signature if he does end up leaving PSG on a free transfer.
Mbappe claimed one goal and one assists in PSG's 4-2 Ligue 1 victory over Strasbourg at the weekend, although he was met with boos from Parisiens fans amid the ongoing transfer speculation.
