Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius is reportedly close to sealing another loan move away from the club.
The 27-year-old spent the majority of the past two seasons with Turkish outfit Besiktas, but that agreement was terminated early due to a row over unpaid wages.
Alisson Becker is now the undisputed number one at Anfield, leaving Karius surplus to requirements - as he has been at Liverpool since making two costly errors in the 2018 Champions League final.
The Reds had been hoping to offload Karius on a permanent basis this summer, but no clubs were willing to meet his £6m asking price.
Goal reports that the German shot-stopper will instead leave on loan, with Union Berlin thought to have beaten city rivals Hertha Berlin and Ligue 1 outfit Montpellier in the race for his signature.
Liverpool are hopeful that a good season for Karius elsewhere could help to drive his price up further before selling him next summer, with his contract due to expire in 2022.
