Manchester City are reportedly ready to go head-to-head with Liverpool in the race to sign West Ham United attacker Jarrod Bowen, amid a likely exit for Ferran Torres.

Manchester City have reportedly joined Liverpool in the race to sign West Ham United attacker Jarrod Bowen, amid Ferran Torres's likely exit from the Etihad.

It has been reported that Torres is closing in on a move to Barcelona, with the two clubs agreeing a deal in the region of £45m for the Spanish international, and that has prompted City to look for a replacement.

Bowen has been an integral figure in David Moyes's side this campaign, netting five times while providing six assists in 25 appearances across all competitions, and he has a long-term contract with the Hammers running until 2025.

According to Manchester Evening News, despite Pep Guardiola's wealth of options in the attacking area of the pitch, Bowen will be targeted to fill any void left by Torres.

Man City's title rivals Liverpool have also been linked with Bowen, who is sure to be wanted at the London Stadium with West Ham aiming for Europa League glory and potentially a top four finish in the Premier League.

The 25-year-old joined the Hammers from Hull City in January 2020, and has gone on to score 14 goals and provide 16 assists in 78 appearances for the club.
