Report: Liverpool ready to sell Mario Balotelli

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will sell misfiring striker Mario Balotelli next summer, according to reports.

Liverpool are reportedly prepared to offload controversial striker Mario Balotelli next summer, just five months after signing him.

The 24-year-old forward has struggled for form and fitness following his £16m move from AC Milan in August, scoring just twice in 12 appearances in all competitions.

Balotelli, currently sidelined with a groin injury, is also facing a five-match ban after being charged by the Football Association for a perceived anti-Semitic post on social media.

Consequently, the Reds are preparing to cut their losses on the former Manchester City man at the end of the season, according to The Mirror.

The Italy international, who started his career with Inter Milan, has been linked with a move back to the Nerazzurri following Roberto Mancini's return to the San Siro.
