Marco Silva has insisted that Fabio Carvalho remains "really happy" at Fulham despite failing to sign a contract with Liverpool on deadline day.
The Premier League giants had been keen to sign the playmaker on a long-term deal before loaning him back to the Cottagers for the remainder of the season.
However, both clubs ran out of time to finalise the transfer, leaving the 19-year-old open to offers from foreign clubs until the summer.
Despite the failure to get a deal over the line, Silva feels that the youngster remains happy at Craven Cottage, hinting that he does not expect the situation to become a distraction.
Speaking to reporters, as quoted by The Athletic, Silva said: "On the final day, the timing and the really important details are always complicated for everyone, not just for us, but for Fabio and for the club with interest in him. This is the main thing to say. That's what happened in that moment.
"What I can say is that Fabio is really happy. The day after the situation, I saw him with the same smile on his face like always. He enjoyed the session and worked hard. That's the main thing."
Liverpool are still favourites to sign Carvalho at the end of the season, a scenario which Fulham would prefer in order to guarantee a fee for the midfielder.
