Mainz 05 boss Kasper Hjulmand has been reassured over his future after being dumped out of two cup competitions in just over a week.
The German side were eliminated from the Europa League last Thursday and most recently the DFB-Pokal Cup in spectacular fashion after losing on penalties in a 5-5 thriller to third-tier opponents Chemnitzer FC.
"The coach fundamentally has our total backing, we are going to get through this together," Mainz's general manager Christian Heidel told Sky Sports News.
"Of course it's not very comforting for a coach when you have your very first two competitions and you are knocked straight out of them."
Hjulmand replaced Mainz's former coach Thomas Tuchel after he resigned at the end of last season.
