Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry is reportedly nearing a return to full fitness following a two-week absence through injury.

Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry could return from injury to face former club Aston Villa in the Premier League on Monday.

The England international has been sidelined for the past two weeks with an ankle problem that he picked up during his side's 3-1 defeat at Southampton.

However, he may feature in the game at Villa Park having recently returned to training, according to the Daily Mail.

Barry is expected to open talks over a new contract with the champions at the end of the season.
