Craig Bellamy tips Jadon Sancho to become "next big player"

Craig Bellamy believes that Jadon Sancho's move from Manchester City to Borussia Dortmund could see him develop into "the next big player".

Craig Bellamy has claimed that Jadon Sancho's move from Manchester City to Borussia Dortmund could see him develop into a world-class star.

The England Under-17 international joined the Bundesliga club on transfer deadline day, with a number of other top sides reportedly also in the hunt for his signature.

Despite rumoured interest from Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester United, Sancho opted for a move to Dortmund, where he has been given the number seven shirt vacated by Ousmane Dembele.

Former Man City forward Bellamy told Sky Sports News: "For those who do not know Jadon Sancho, you need to know, he is that good.

"I was fully aware of him when he was at Watford. And then when he went to Man City, I was speaking to the head of development there and they could not stop raving about him.

"So I went to see him play for myself, as I had to, and he was that good. So I thought he was going to be the next one at City, he was going to come through, this kid is that good that he is going to be the next big player coming through.

"It is going to take a couple more years to get to that stage, but he has a chance because his ability is that good. But maybe Germany and Dortmund are the right fit for him at this time."

Sancho has not played a first-team game yet in his fledgling career, but was a regular in City's youth sides last season, scoring 20 goals in 35 games.
