Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has stated that the team's friendly defeat to Real Madrid leaves them with plenty of work to do ahead of the new season.
Manuel Pellegrini's side went down 4-1 to the La Liga outfit in the pre-season clash, which saw Real lift the International Champions Cup.
Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe and Denis Cheryshev were all among the goals for Rafael Benitez's side, while City grabbed a consolation through Yaya Toure.
"We didn't play very well," BBC Sport quotes Hart as saying.
"We were a little bit disjointed. We will take loads away from it in that we have plenty to work on.
"It's pre-season at the end of the day, we can't get too wrapped up in the result. Our team is only going to get stronger, we'll get fitter and be ready for the first game of the season."
City begin their Premier League campaign with an away trip to West Bromwich Albion on Monday, August 10.
