Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne could earn up to £100m over the remaining five years of his contract at the club, according to a report.

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne stands to earn up to £100m over the next five years of his contract at the club, according to a report.

The Belgian playmaker put pen to paper on a lucrative six-year deal in January which will see his salary increase every year in addition to a number of bonuses and add-ons.

A Football Leaks document published by French outlet Le Soir claims that De Bruyne will earn a basic salary of £9m this year, in addition to a £2.5m loyalty bonus and a bonus for playing in 60% of Man City's matches.

De Bruyne also earns around £2m per year in image rights deals, taking his possible income for this season up to £14.5m.

Success in competitions would also result in more bonuses for the 27-year-old, with Champions League glory earning him £1m, Premier League success resulting in a £750,000 bonus, and the FA Cup carrying a £300,000 incentive. Winning other cup competitions would reportedly earn him £75,000 apiece too.

De Bruyne could also win £400,000 for each time he wins the Ballon d'Or, while other individual accolades such as the PFA Player of the Year, FWA Footballer of the Year and a place in the PFA Team of the Year carry additional bonuses.

The basic salary, loyalty fee and playing bonuses also increase every year, meaning that if all of the personal and team add-ons are met De Bruyne would earn £100.63m over the remainder of his contract.
