Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini says that he is happy to be top of the league, but would like a bigger points margin over Manchester United.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has said that he is happy to be top at Christmas, but would have liked a bigger points margin.

The Blues are top of the Premier League table over local rivals Manchester United by two points after their 3-0 win at home to Stoke City.

"It is special, but we have only two points over United - normally at 44 you should have five or six over the second team," he told Sky Sports News.

The Italian also revealed that he is happy as the manager of City after he celebrated two years in the job.

"I am happy after two years in Manchester, with City - we have done a good job until now and we are top and we will continue to work hard if we want to stay here, if we want to win the championship and other things," he added.

"It is different now from when I arrived, but we are all working together - after two years it is good."

The league leaders next visit West Bromwich Albion on Boxing Day.
