Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola sets all-time record with landmark win

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola reaches 200 wins in English football in record time following his side's 2-1 victory over West Ham United on Saturday.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola set a new English managerial record following his side's 2-1 victory over West Ham United on Saturday lunchtime.

The Spaniard's unstoppable charges marched to their 20th victory in a row across all competitions over the Hammers, who left the Etihad with their heads held high despite suffering defeat to the runaway league leaders.

Even with stalwart Sergio Aguero back in the starting lineup, it was Guardiola's defenders who took centre stage as Ruben Dias and John Stones netted either side of a Michail Antonio equaliser on the day.

Saturday's triumph marked Guardiola's 200th win as Man City manager in his 273rd game in charge - the shortest amount of time that a manager of an English top-flight side has chalked up two centuries of victories.

Furthermore, the 50-year-old has now amassed a staggering 500 wins in his managerial career after glittering stints at Barcelona and Bayern Munich before his move to City in 2016.

The Manchester giants - who have also gone 27 unbeaten - are now 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table having played 26 matches.
