Manchester City are reportedly prepared to offer £25m to bring Athletic Bilbao defender Javi Martinez to the Etihad Stadium this summer.
The 23-year-old is believed to have attracted interest from City's local rivals Manchester United as well as Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Despite competition from Europe's elite, the Premier League champions are confident that they can lure the Spaniard to the blue half of Manchester with a substantial wage packet, according to the Daily Mail.
It is believed that Roberto Mancini has switched his focus to the defender due to the likelihood of losing Lille playmaker Eden Hazard to Chelsea.
Martinez is thought to have a get-out clause of £24m in his contract with Bilbao.
