Manchester City reportedly have no interest in becoming involved in a bidding war for Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodri.

Manchester City have reportedly decided that they will not pay in excess of their valuation of Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodri.

City will be in the market for a new defensive-minded player for the middle of the park during the next transfer window, and Rodri has allegedly been identified as a potential signing.

However, according to Sky Sports News, City have no intention of getting themselves involved in a bidding war for the Spaniard.

The 22-year-old has a release clause of just over £60m, but there is the suggestion that City may look to sign the player for less than that figure.

Rodri has made a total of 42 appearances during his first campaign at Atletico having signed from Villarreal last summer.
