Luka Modric has reportedly been identified as a summer transfer target of Premier League champions Manchester City.
It is believed that Real Madrid are eager to recruit Paul Pogba from Juventus, which could push Croatian international Modric down the midfield pecking order at the Bernabeu.
There is also a chance that Madrid would need to part with two or three players in order to comply with UEFA's Financial Fair Play regulations.
That is a situation that City are keen to exploit, with a £25m bid being prepared for the former Tottenham Hotspur playmaker, according to the Daily Star.
The 29-year-old made the switch to the Spanish capital from Spurs for £30m in 2012.
