On the hunt for a fourth straight win in all competitions, a reborn Arsenal host Ruben Amorim's Manchester United in Wednesday's Premier League blockbuster.

The Gunners' post-international break revival continued with a 5-2 beating of West Ham United on Saturday night, where five different scorers breached the Irons' net in the first half.

Arsenal's thumping of the Irons lifted Mikel Arteta's men into second place in the Premier League standings above Manchester City and Chelsea, but they are still nine points below Liverpool thanks to the Reds' triumph over Man City on Sunday.

Gabriel Magalhaes had suffered a knock against Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League but was passed fit to start at West Ham, where he scored his obligatory goal from a corner. However, the Brazilian then had to come off at half time after his previous issue flared up, and his availability for Wednesday is up in the air.


Mikel Merino

Mikel Merino was nowhere to be seen on the team sheet on Saturday evening, and Arsenal soon revealed that the Spaniard had picked up a knee problem, which also renders him doubtful for the visit of the Red Devils.


Thomas Partey
