Victor Anichebe has backed his former Everton boss David Moyes to succeed as manager of Manchester United.
The former Toffees manager has endured an indifferent beginning to life at United, with the Red Devils recording their worst start to a league campaign in 24 years under Moyes's tutelage.
However, Anichebe, who spent seven years alongside the Scot at Goodison Park, believes that his mentor will ultimately prove his mettle at Old Trafford.
"David Moyes is a good guy and a great coach," the current 25-year-old striker told the Daily Mail
"People say the same about Marouane Fellaini and ask whether they are 'Manchester United people'. I'm not sure what that means. They are successful. Full stop.
"They will do a good and honest job. I don't know if he will be successful in the future, but they have been so far. Why not?"
United take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light later today, while Anichebe - now with West Bromwich Albion - could miss the visit of Arsenal to The Hawthorns tomorrow evening.
