Ashley Young insists that Manchester United will bounce back from their 2-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

Ashley Young has insisted that Manchester United will bounce back from their 2-0 defeat at Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils conceded in the first 11 seconds of the match at Wembley, before an own goal from Phil Jones saw Tottenham take a two-goal lead in front of their own supporters.

United could not respond in the second 45 minutes as they suffered their first defeat of 2018.

Young, however, has said that his team will 'dust themselves down' ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Huddersfield Town at Old Trafford.

"Obviously we're disappointed to concede a goal so early on and to be 2-0 down at half-time is tough when you play a tough team like Tottenham," Young told MUTV.

"This was going to be a tough game. If we got the next goal, it would have been a different story. It wasn't meant to be – there is a lot of disappointment in that dressing room but we have got another tough game this weekend. We've got to dust ourselves down, pick ourselves up and go again."

United currently sit second in the Premier League table - 15 points behind leaders Manchester City.
