Antonio Conte has reportedly already identified nine Manchester United players that he would build his team around if he replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as head coach.
Solskjaer will be in charge for Saturday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur, but the Norwegian is under immense pressure at Old Trafford due to a poor run of form.
Conte is regarded as the favourite to be appointed Red Devils manager, should the club decide that a change in the dugout is required in the near future.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian would look to utilise Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Pogba, Raphael Varane, Alex Telles, Bruno Fernandes, Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford.
However, the report did not mention Harry Maguire or Luke Shaw, suggesting that the pair could be in danger of losing their spots if Conte arrives as Solskjaer's replacement.
Man United have lost three of their last four matches in the Premier League, which has seen them drop down into seventh position in the table, eight points behind division leaders Chelsea.
