Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted that David Moyes is the right man to take the helm at Old Trafford.
The Premier League champions confirmed this afternoon that the 50-year-old will leave Everton to join the Red Devils on a six-year contract following Ferguson's decision to retire from the game after 26 years in charge.
"When we discussed the candidates that we felt had the right attributes we unanimously agreed on David Moyes," Ferguson told the club's official website. "David is a man of great integrity with a strong work ethic.
"He was a young man then at the start of his career and has since gone on to do a magnificent job at Everton. There is no question he has all the qualities we expect of a manager at this club."
Moyes, who leaves Everton after 11 years, will begin his United career on July 1.
