Manchester United's Timothy Fosu-Mensah eyes central role

Timothy Fosu-Mensah reveals that he would like to play in a central position for Manchester United, having made the majority of his appearances at full-back.

Manchester United youngster Timothy Fosu-Mensah has admitted that he sees his long-term future in a central position.

The 18-year-old has made eight appearances in all competitions since breaking into the first team earlier this year.

However, the majority of those have come either at right or left-back.

Asked by the club's official website which position he would like to predominantly play in, the Dutchman replied: "It's a difficult question. I think I'll just be keeping my options open.

"Centre-back or midfield, I think that is the most chance. However, as I've said before, wherever the manager wants me, I will play there."

Fosu-Mensah was a late substitute during United's 1-0 win over relegated Aston Villa yesterday afternoon.
