Ashley Young "delighted" by personal performance in Arsenal draw

Ashley Young admits to being "delighted" by his personal performance in this evening's 1-1 draw against Arsenal, but insists that his side should have held on to win.

Manchester United winger Ashley Young has thanked manager Louis van Gaal for showing huge faith in him this season.

The 29-year-old added another assist to his collection by teeing up Ander Herrera in the Red Devils' 1-1 draw against Arsenal this evening.

United took the lead inside the opening half-hour at Old Trafford, although their opponents grew into the contest before salvaging a point eight minutes from time.

Speaking to Sky Sports News after the game, Young said: "You saw the players at the end, we let it slip and let Arsenal back into it. We looked comfortable.

"I am delighted with my own performance but it is about the team and we showed spirit. I am happy with how things have gone but we would like to have gone out with a win.

"I am doing well for the team, getting assists and goals and delighted the manager has shown faith in me."

Young has made 28 appearances for United this season in all competitions.
