Premier League predictions gameweek 29: One True Pairing vs. Sports Mole
Sports Mole takes on One True Pairing for a Premier League predictions challenge in gameweek 29 of the 2023-24 season.

The Premier League splits its attention with the FA Cup quarter-finals this weekend, with many of the big-hitters bidding for a place at Wembley while league matters continue for those left over.

Four Premier League games will take place, and despite the reduced schedule it promises to be an important weekend in both the Champions League and relegation battles.

On Saturday, Burnley take on Brentford and Luton Town host Nottingham Forest with all four sides firmly in the fight to avoid the drop, while the late kickoff on that day is a London derby between Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur.

Victory for Spurs in that game would lift them into the top four, but Aston Villa could jump back above Ange Postecoglou's side when they visit West Ham United in Sunday's only league game.

In the FA Cup, Manchester United vs. Liverpool headlines the action on Sunday, while Chelsea take on Championship leaders Leicester City earlier on that day.

Holders Manchester City are also in action on Saturday as they host Newcastle United, while the weekend's action begins with Wolverhampton Wanderers entertaining Coventry City.

Each gameweek, Sports Mole is taking on a famous musician or band in a prediction competition, and this week it is the turn of One True Pairing.

One True Pairing Q&A

One True pairing press shot

How did you come to support Blackburn and what are your favourite memories from your time as a fan?

I grew up in South Cumbria and everyone at school was either Man Utd or Liverpool. With my need to be different crossed with King Kenny coming in, I had my team. The closest top-flight team with the best strikers. Rover for life.

I think my first game was against Leeds at Ewood Park, December 1995(?). I sat with my Dad up in the gods. It was a scrappy 1-1 draw and I believe Tim Flowers was sent off after a couple of minutes, not that I knew at the time.

Also watched Shearer score a lovely turn-and-hit against Tottenham, which was goal of the month on Match of the Day.

A few years ago, away at Brentford before they tore down Griffin Park, going 3-0 up after 30 mins then going on to lose 5-3, Neal Maupay taunting the away end. Good times.

Who have been your favourite five players for your club?

Graeme Le Saux, Mike Newell, Benni McCarthy, Craig Bellamy, and oh, BIG ALAN SHEARER.

What's going on for you as an artist at the moment?

Just released my second single of the year entitled "Mid-Life Crisis", after putting out "Frozen Food Centre" earlier. After a bit of a quiet period it's great to be putting music out again and there will be plenty more. Starting to play live again.
