Premier League in numbers: Week 10

Sports Mole looks back over the 10th round of Premier League matches with a selections of statistics from each match.

Newcastle United 1-0 Liverpool

Having failed to win any of their opening seven Premier League matches this season, Newcastle have recorded victories in their last three.

Liverpool had previously gone unbeaten in their last four outings against the Magpies.

Meanwhile, Reds striker Mario Balotelli's goal drought in a Liverpool shirt has extended to eight Premier League games.


Arsenal 3-0 Burnley

Alexis Sanchez has scored 10 goals for Arsenal this season - five more than any of his teammates.

The Chilean's brace helped the Gunners to record consecutive Premier League wins for the first time this season.

Burnley remain the only side in England's top four leagues to have not won a game this season.


Chelsea 2-1 Queens Park Rangers

QPR boss Harry Redknapp has lost all six of his matches against sides managed by Jose Mourinho.

The winning goal was scored by Eden Hazard, who has scored all eight of the penalties that he has taken for Chelsea.

R's striker Charlie Austin found the net for the fifth time in the Premier League this season.


Everton 0-0 Swansea City

Everton manager Roberto Martinez, who played for the Swans, took charge of a Premier League game for the 200th time.

Visiting Swansea were the first side to have prevented the Toffees from scoring this season.

The red card handed to Jonjo Shelvey was the second that the 22-year-old has received during his career.


Hull City 0-1 Southampton

Ronald Koeman's Saints have now won seven of their last eight Premier League matches.

The clean sheet was the sixth that Southampton have kept in 10 outings.

The loss ended a streak of three encounters without a defeat for Steve Bruce's Hull.


Leicester City 0-1 West Bromwich Albion

The Foxes have lost four of their last five Premier League matches. In those games, they have failed to score a goal.

As for West Brom, they have tasted defeat just once in their last six outings.

Their striker - Saido Berahino - failed to score at the King Power Stadium, having scored in his previous four Premier League appearances.


Stoke City 2-2 West Ham United

Having lost their first two home matches of the season, Stoke are now unbeaten in their last three games in front of their own supporters.

Victor Moses, who is on loan at Stoke from Chelsea, scored his first goal for the Potters.

Enner Valencia reduced the arrears for West Ham in the 60th minute with what was the away side's first effort on target.


Manchester City 1-0 Manchester United

The victory was City's fourth over United in a row. The last time they achieved such a feat was back in 1970.

The home side's match winner - Sergio Aguero - scored his 10th Premier League goal in as many matches this term.

Chris Smalling became the fifth United player to be red-carded in 2014 - no team has received more.


Aston Villa 1-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane scored his eighth goal of the season at Villa Park, but it was his first in the Premier League.

As for Villa, they ended a goal drought that stretched back to September 13.

However, the defeat was the home side's sixth in succession, having not lost any of their four encounters prior to that.


Crystal Palace 1-3 Sunderland

The victory was the first that Sunderland have achieved away from home this season.

It was also their first victory on Monday since back in April 2002.

Hosting Palace have conceded 19 Premier League goals this term - only QPR with 20 have shipped more.
