Numerous reports claim that the Manchester United squad know who will be replacing Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Manchester United playing squad have reportedly been informed who will be their manager next season.

It was confirmed earlier today that after 27 years at the helm, Sir Alex Ferguson would step down from the position at the end of the current campaign.

He informed his coaching staff and players of his decision at training earlier today, where the identity of his successor was also announced, according to numerous reports.

Everton boss David Moyes is the clear favourite with the bookmakers to fill the vacancy, with some speculation having claimed that he could be appointed as early as tomorrow.

The United squad have since gone to Chester for a day at the races.
