AC Milan are reportedly preparing to approach Manchester United with a new and improved offer for Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot.
The 22-year-old spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan at San Siro, contributing two goals and three assists in 33 appearances in all competitions.
As it stands, Dalot will be a part of Man United's first-team squad for the new season, but the right-back continues to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
Real Madrid have been credited with an interest, but Milan are believed to be at the head of the queue for the former Porto youngster, having built a relationship with him last season.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Italian giants want to sign Dalot on loan for next season with the option to make the deal permanent next summer.
Romano claims that Milan will improve the loan fee previously offered to Man United, who are thought to be demanding a figure in the region of €5m (£4.3m).
Dalot, who has made 35 appearances for his parent club in all competitions, still has two years left to run on his contract with the 20-time English champions.
