Manchester United have reportedly made a bid of £22m for Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches.
The highly-rated 18-year-old has impressed since breaking into Benfica's first team this term, contributing two goals in 13 appearances, including a match-winner.
According to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, United are in "advanced talks" about the deal and have made an offer in the region of £22m.
Sanches recently signed a new contract keeping him at the Estadio da Luz until 2021 and although he has a buyout clause of £60m, United are confident that they can sign him for less than half of that amount.
Adding more firepower up front has been a key priority for United manager Louis van Gaal this month, with his side ranking as just the 10th-best attackers in the Premier League.
