Manchester United reportedly have no intention of triggering their one-year option in the contract of midfielder Paul Pogba.

Manchester United will reportedly opt against extending the contract of midfielder Paul Pogba.

While Pogba has just over a year remaining on his deal, United have the option of adding an extra 12 months to the Frenchman's terms at Old Trafford.

However, according to the Daily Star, club officials are currently unwilling to activate the clause.

Although such a decision could potentially hinder United when it comes to demanding a bigger transfer fee for the World Cup winner, it would mean that the club are not committing to an extra financial outlay on a player who has barely featured this season.

On Thursday, it was claimed that the Premier League outfit were prepared to entertain offers in the region of £70m for the playmaker.

Real Madrid and Juventus have frequently been linked with a move for Pogba, while Inter Milan are also said to be contemplating an approach.
