Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly closing in on a £67m deal for in-demand Matthijs de Ligt after the club's sporting director met with the Ajax captain's agent.

The agent of in-demand Ajax captain Matthijs de Ligt has reportedly met with Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Antero Henrique to discuss terms over a possible transfer.

De Ligt has dominated many of the headlines during the current transfer window, having led Ajax to a domestic double and the semi-finals of the Champions League at the age of just 19.

A host of Europe's top clubs are understood to be interested in his signature, including the likes of Barcelona, Liverpool and Manchester United.

Barca had been considered frontrunners, but De Ligt reportedly upped his wage demands and PSG are now thought to be leading the race for the Dutch international's signature.

RMC Sport claims that the Ligue 1 giants met with De Ligt's agent Mino Raiola in Paris to thrash out terms for a lucrative deal at the Parc des Princes.

PSG are reportedly closing in on a €75m (£66.8m) transfer fee with Ajax for the coveted teenager, while his contract in the French capital could reportedly be worth as much as £340,000 per week.
