Report: Milan Skriniar in talks with Barcelona over January move

Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar is a January transfer target for Barcelona, according to a report.

Barcelona have reportedly met with the representatives of Milan Skriniar to discuss a January move for the Inter Milan defender.

The 23-year-old, who is also rumoured to have been a target for Jose Mourinho at Manchester United in the summer, is said to have been eyed as cover for Samuel Umtiti at Camp Nou.

Umtiti is carrying a knee injury and Barca privately fear that the Frenchman is facing a spell on the sidelines, forcing them to look at bringing in a replacement midway through the season.

Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo suggests that Skriniar is the player that Ernesto Valverde wants to sign, with discussions currently at an early stage.

Inter only recruited the Slovakia international from Sampdoria last year for around £24m.
