Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray are reportedly preparing to make a move to sign Arsenal's Jorginho after failing in their bid to recruit Man United's Casemiro.

Turkish giants Galatasaray are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal midfielder Jorginho.

Galatasaray boss Okan Buruk is looking to bolster his side before the Turkish transfer window closes on September 13.

The Turkish Super Lig champions were seemingly keen to recruit experienced Manchester United midfielder Casemiro.

However, the former Real Madrid man is not expected to join Galatasaray and is set to remain at Old Trafford until at least 2025.

Casemiro is seemingly prepared to stay and fight for his place at Man United despite facing intense scrutiny for his performance in the 3-0 defeat to Liverpool.

Galatasaray targeting Jorginho move

With Casemiro reluctant to leave Man United, Galatasaray have supposedly turned their focus to another Premier League midfielder.

According to The Sun, Galatasaray are lining up a potential move to sign Euro 2020 winner Jorginho from Arsenal.

The report claims that Galatasaray are ready to test Arsenal's resolve before the Turkish transfer window slams shut.

They may feel they can strike a cut-price deal, with Jorginho's Arsenal contract set to expire at the end of the season.

However, the Gunners are keen to retain the player's services and are expected to reject any approach from Galatasaray.

Why are Arsenal determined to keep Jorginho?

Jorginho is still looking to make his first appearance of the season after being an unused substitute in each of Arsenal's first three matches.

The ex-Chelsea midfielder is ultimately behind Declan Rice, Thomas Partey and summer signing Mikel Merino in the pecking order.

However, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta still views Jorginho as a valuable squad member, and his presence adds useful strength in depth.

In fact, there is a possibility that Jorginho could start against North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur next weekend, with Rice suspended and Merino nursing a shoulder injury.
