Donny van de Beek will reportedly return to Manchester United this summer, as Eintracht Frankfurt are not expected to sign the midfielder on a permanent basis.
The 26-year-old made the move to Frankfurt on loan in January, but he has only featured on six occasions for the German outfit in all competitions, and he has played just 18 minutes in their last three Bundesliga games.
The Eagles have the option of signing Van de Beek on a permanent basis for £8.5m this summer, but according to Bild, Dino Toppmoller's side are not planning to activate it.
The report claims that the midfielder's performances have not met expectations, and he is now likely to head back to his parent club during this summer's transfer window.

Van de Beek featured in Frankfurt's first three Bundesliga matches after his arrival, but he has now only played in three of their last seven games in Germany's top flight.
The midfielder only played twice for Man United in the first half of the 2023-24 campaign, with just one of those outings coming in the Premier League.
The Dutchman has a contract with the Red Devils until June 2025, but he is unlikely to play for the club again, with a departure expected to occur this summer even if he does not move to Frankfurt.
Van de Beek arrived at Man United from Ajax in September 2020, and he has represented the club on 62 occasions, scoring twice and registering two assists in the process.

The midfielder starred during his time at Ajax, scoring 41 goals and registering 34 assists in 175 appearances for the Dutch outfit ahead of his move to the 20-time English champions.
Man United are expected to overhaul their midfield department this summer, with Casemiro and Christian Eriksen also likely to depart in search of pastures new.
Sofyan Amrabat's loan switch from Fiorentina is not expected to be made permanent, meanwhile, as the Morocco international has struggled to impress since his arrival last summer.
Van de Beek's struggles have seen him drop out of the Netherlands squad, and he has not represented his national side since 2021.
