Team News: Few changes in Tyne-Wear derby

Newcastle United make just one change for today's Premier League derby at home to Sunderland, with Shola Ameobi replacing the suspended Loic Remy.

Newcastle United have made just one change for today's local derby at home to Sunderland following last weekend's goalless draw at Norwich City.

Shola Ameobi comes into the side to partner brother Sammy up front in the 150th Tyne-Wear derby, as Loic Remy sits out the game through suspension.

Meanwhile, new loan signing Luuk de Jong makes the bench for the Magpies, who begin life without Yohan Cabaye today.

Liam Bridcutt makes his debut for Sunderland following a deadline day move from Brighton & Hove Albion, replacing Sebastian Larsson. Fellow new arrival Ignacio Scocco is on the bench.

Newcastle United: Krul, Debuchy, Taylor, Williamson, Santon, Sissoko, Tiote, Anita, Sammy Ameobi, Shola Ameobi, Ben Arfa
Subs: Yanga-Mbiwa, De Jong, Haidara, Elliot, Marveaux, Dummett, Armstrong

Sunderland: Mannone, Bardsley, Alonso, Brown, O'Shea, Bridcutt, Colback, Ki, Johnson, Borini, Altidore
Subs: Larsson, Gardner, Wickham, Giaccherini, Vergini, Scocco, Ustari
