Newcastle United captain Fabricio Coloccini admits that his future is still uncertain, insisting that talks with the club regarding a move are planned for May.

Newcastle United captain Fabricio Coloccini has admitted that he is still unsure about his future at the club.

The Argentine was keen to leave the club in January and return to his homeland for personal reasons. However, the Magpies convinced him to stay until the end of the season.

When asked about a summer move from St James' Park, Coloccini told Goal.com: "I don't know. I don't think anything about the end of the season because I just think about being alright.

"But there are many things that make it difficult to be in England. I have been in Europe for 13 years. I have two children who can't enjoy their grandparents and cousins because we are far from them.

"They said no, and I had to turn the page, get out onto the pitch and perform and try to thank them for the five years they have given me confidence and affection and made me feel at home. We also talked about May, when we will meet again."

Argentinian side San Lorenzo were reportedly interested in signing Coloccini in January.
