Steve Cotterill praises "ruthless" Bristol City

Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill praises his players for their "ruthless" 3-0 victory at Port Vale in League One.

Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill has praised his team for their "ruthless" performance during Tuesday's win at Port Vale in League One.

The Robins earned a comfortable 3-0 victory at Vale Park to put them four points clear at the top of the table.

Aaron Wilbraham continued his recent run of form in front of goal by netting twice for the visitors, while Aden Flint also got on the scoresheet as City made it four consecutive wins.

"We were ruthless and I was very pleased with the performance," Cotterill is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "They tried to press the ball, but we found spaces between the lines, passed it very well and our spirit and attitude were spot on.

"We have come from behind in games this season and we have also shown we are a good side when we've got our noses in front. When teams open up and come at us we've got the players who have got the passing ability and pace to take advantage of that."

City return to League One action on Saturday with a trip to Fleetwood Town.
