Monaco have reached the semi-finals of the Coupe de France thanks to a 2-1 quarter-final victory at Nice on Tuesday night.

Thomas Lemar opened the scoring for Leonardo Jardim's charges after just three minutes played at the Allianz Riviera.

The 22-year-old, who is still believed to be on Arsenal's radar, was on hand to head home Keita Balde's pinpoint cross from close range.

Lemar found the back of the net again on 13 minutes, only for his well-taken effort to be ruled out for offside.

Nice went on to draw level on 18 minutes when Alassane Plea raced between his markers and slotted an effort at the near post beyond Diego Benaglio.

However, the reigning Ligue 1 champions retook the lead in the 37th minute through Adama Diakhaby, who connected with another Balde delivery to fire past Walter Benitez.

Nice came out strongly in the second half as Bassem Srarfi and Pierre Lees-Melou threatened the Monaco backline on numerous occasions.

Nonetheless, the visitors were able to hold Lucien Favre's charges at bay until the final whistle to progress to the final four of the competition.

NICE (4-2-1-3): Le Marchand, Sarr, Dante, Burner; Tameze; Seri (Koziello 80'), Lees Melou (Cyprien 67'); Saint-Maximin, Plea, Srarfi (Ganago 76')

MONACO (4-2-3-1): Benaglio, Raggi, Jemerson, Glik, Sidibe; Fabinho, Moutinho; Lemar, Keita (N'Doram 88'), Diakhaby (Lopes 66'); Carrillo (Jovetic 60')
