Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim hints at sale of Liverpool target Thomas Lemar

Monaco hint at possible Lemar exit
Monaco head coach Leonardo Jardim hints that players could be sold this month amid reports that Liverpool are interested in Thomas Lemar.

Monaco head coach Leonardo Jardim has refused to completely rule out a major sale in the January window amid widespread reports that Liverpool are hunting Thomas Lemar.

A spot has opened up in the Reds' midfield following the departure of Philippe Coutinho, who finalised a switch to Barcelona today in a reported £142m deal.

Liverpool - as well as Arsenal - were heavily linked with a swoop for Lemar in the summer window but a deal never materialised.

Reports have claimed that the Merseyside outfit are trying to revive the deal, but suggestions of a transfer were initially batted away by Jardim.

Now, the Monaco boss has told reporters that there could be some movement before the month is out.

"We are not used to selling in the winter," L'Equipe quotes Jardim as saying. "But the transfer window lasts until the end of the month and many things can happen."

Liverpool have made one signing already in this window - the £75m capture of Virgil van Dijk from Southampton.
