Norwich City midfielder Elliott Bennett has said that teammate Grant Holt deserves a call-up to England's Euro 2012 squad.
The striker has scored 13 goals this campaign and is the second-highest English goalscorer behind Wayne Rooney.
Bennett believes that the 30-year-old's form means that he is deserving of a ticket to Ukraine and Poland.
"Fans love to moan after a tournament when England don't do too well and say 'you're just taking the same old players'," Bennett told talkSPORT.
"If you're talking about picking players on form, then why not [take him]? He's the second-highest English scorer in the Premier league, behind Wayne Rooney, why not take him?
"He's definitely worth a shot, different players have had one and he deserves one."
Holt recently said that it would be a "dream" to play for his country.
