Nottingham Forest will be looking to end a seven-game losing streak when they face Blackpool in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.

Nottingham Forest will be bidding to end a seven-match streak when they face Blackpool in the FA Cup third round.

Forest have endured a mixed 2022-23, initially winning just one of their opening 11 matches back in the Premier League.

However, Steve Cooper has since turned things around at the City Ground, collecting 13 points from the most recent 10 league games and guiding Forest through to the EFL Cup quarter-finals.

As a result of recent eye-catching results and performances versus the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Southampton, the East Midlands outfit are full of confidence ahead of the trip to the North-West.

Forest will be facing a team in Blackpool who sit in 22nd position in the Championship and are without a win in their last nine fixtures.

That said, if Forest are to progress through to the last 32, they will need to end a run of results which has lasted since the start of 2015.

Forest have suffered seven successive away defeats in the FA Cup, the first occurring on January 3 of that year as they went down 1-0 at Rochdale.

The most recent setback on the road in the FA Cup came at Swansea City six years later, Forest losing by a 5-1 scoreline on that occasion.

Although Forest progressed through to the quarter-finals last season, each of their four ties were played at the City Ground, their elimination coming at the hands of eventual winners Liverpool.

On a positive note, Forest ended their dismal run of away results in the Premier League on Wednesday as they edged past bottom-of-the-table Southampton.

Furthermore, Cooper's side thrashed Blackburn Rovers by a 4-1 scoreline at Ewood Park in the EFL Cup fourth round upon the resumption after the World Cup.

Blackpool are also without success at Bloomfield Road since they defeated Preston North End in a derby showdown back on October 22.
